Certification Foundations – Chicago

The Foundations 2-day training program is designed to provide you with a detailed understanding of the Caliper Profile, including content on Psychometrics, Compliance, Interview Questions, and Interpretation of Caliper Profile Behaviors and Traits.

Learning Objectives

 

1. Interpret the Caliper Profile Advisor Report, including behaviors and traits, using the Caliper Profile Advisor Behavior Guide

2. Recognize and define key competencies and requirements of the roles in your organization

3. Estimate the degree of fit between an individual and a given role by connecting the key competencies and requirements of the role with the strengths and areas of development of the individual

4. Bring best practices back to your organization related to selection and development

 

Course Outline

DAY ONE

Understanding Context

Content: Provide C-P-I Model (Context-Personality-Integration) as framework for program.

Review of Caliper job categories and job families and a brief introduction to the Caliper Competency Library.

Activities: Large-group discussion and small-group activity to better understand the work environment and the elements that determine success in a given role.

Introduction and use of the Job Analysis Tool (JAT) in conjunction with a sample job description. This helps the learner break down a job in order to connect critical key results with behaviors needed for success in the role. 

Understanding Personality

Content: Understanding traits, behaviors, and competencies. Describe relationship between traits, behaviors, and competencies; identify difference between learned and innate tendencies and how they relate to observable behavior.

Introduction and review of the Caliper Profile Advisor Behavior Guide to understand purpose and use.

Activities: Review sample Caliper Profile Advisor Report and describe behavioral tendencies and nature of high vs. low scores.

Practice interpreting Caliper Profile Advisor Reports for two sample candidates to identify job-related strengths and areas of development.

 

DAY TWO

Understanding Integration

Content: Integrating context and personality to understand job fit.

Practice application of C-P-I in selection scenarios.

Practice application of C-P-I in development scenarios.

Introduction and use of the Caliper Profile Interpretation Tool (CPIT) to help identify Caliper Profile strengths and developmental areas.

Review of Caliper’s development applications.

Activities: Case study of selection scenario, including identifying job-related strengths and areas of development, interpreting a Caliper Profile Advisor Report, and determining next steps. Utilization of Caliper tools, JAT and CPIT.

Case study of development scenario, including understanding how to frame Caliper feedback, interpreting a Caliper Profile Advisor Report, and determining next steps.
